The Burning Season starts production in Algonquin Park

The Burning Season, the latest feature film collaboration between director Sean Garrity and writer, producer, lead actor Jonas Chernick, has started rolling cameras in Algonquin Park, Ontario. The film, co-written by Chernick and Diana Frances, tells the story of a years-long affair between an emotionally damaged cottage resort owner, and a married woman who visits every summer. Chernick co-stars opposite Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries, I Put a Hit On You), Joe Pingue (Station Eleven), and Tanisha Thammavongsa (Transplant). The film - the tenth feature film to be directed by Garrity - will be released in Canada by Northern Banner Releasing and globally by Sphere Films International. Mockingbird marks the seventh feature film collaboration between Chernick and Garrity, who will be premiering their last movie, the comedy The End of Sex, at TIFF 2022.
