Ashgrove to world premiere at Glasgow Film Festival

The Glasgow Film Festival has announed its official line-up for its 2022 edition, and Ashgrove is among the ten world premieres. The psychological drama stars Amanda Brugel and Jonas Chernick as a struggling married couple who retreat to their rural farmhouse in an attempt to reconnect, only to discover that their ability to save their marriage will literally dictate the fate of humankind. Directed by Jeremy LaLonde, Ashgrove was filmed in secret in September 2020, and marks the second LaLonde-Chernick collaboration to premiere at Glasgow, after their sci-fi comedy James Vs His Future Self bowed there in 2020. LaLonde, Chernick and Brugel co-wrote Ashgrove, which is produced by Chernick, LaLonde and Peter Harvey. Brugel is widely known as a series regular on the Emmy winning series The Handmaid's Tale, and is currently a judge on Canada's Drag Race. The film also stars Shawn Doyle, Natalie Brown, Christine Horne and Sugith Varughese, and will be released in Canada in 2022 by Northern Banner, before airing on Hollywood Suite.
