The Best Laid Plans premieres tonight on the CBC

Jonas Chernick stars as Daniel Addison in the six-part mini-series The Best Laid Plans, which kicks off tonight at 9 pm on the CBC, continuing tomorrow (Monday) at 9 pm, which becomes the show's regular timeslot. The political satire is based on Terry Fallis's award-winning novel of the same name, and features many of Canada's biggest stars, including Kenneth Welsh, Mark McKinney, Peter Keleghan, Leah Pinsent, Eric Peterson, Tom Jackson, Sonja Smits, Sarah Allen, Raoul Bhaneja and Jodi Balfour. Early reviews have praised the show, and Chernick's performance. Veteran TV critic James Bawden says: "Chernick emerges as a Jimmy Stewart for our age", Scott Stinson of the National Post says: "Chernick makes for an excellent Daniel Addison", and Tony Lofaro of the Ottawa Citizen says: "Chernick is appealing as the earnest Addison." The series is directed by Peter Moss and Jim Allodi, and written by Susan Coyne and Jason Sherman.
