My Awkward Sexual Adventure wins the People's Choice Award at the 2012 Calgary International Film Festival

Announced on October 5, 2012, My Awkward Sexual Adventure has won the People's Choice Award for Best Narrative Film at the recently wrapped Calgary International Film Festival. The movie, starring, written by and co-produced by Jonas Chernick, was a crowd favorite at this year's festival, where the audience voted it their favorite film (tying with Rebelle, Canada's submission for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award). In a statement from the festival, quoted in the Calgary Herald, Chernick said: "We’re so lucky that the people of Calgary enjoy watching awkward sex as much as we enjoy depicting it on screen. Thanks Calgary, and please do consider therapy." Next stop for Awkward is the Whistler Film Festival, where it will compete for the Borsos Prize for Best Canadian Film.
